The affiliate system is part of Plug&Pay Ultimate. Are you using Plug&Pay Lite or Premium? Upgrade to Plug&Pay Ultimate to use this feature.

With a payment profile you configure how much commission an affiliate receives and which products commission can be earned on. You can then choose per affiliate which payment profile they are assigned. This is useful when you:

  • Have a group of affiliates who have been working with you for a long time and you want to reward them for their loyalty.

  • Have a group of affiliates who may only receive commission for product A, and a group of affiliates who may only receive commission for product B.

In these situations you can make use of a payment profile! Below you will be taken through the explanation of payment profiles and how to create a new one.

The 'Default' Payment Profile

Under Affiliates > Settings > Profiles you have the option to create a profile. An affiliate always starts with the 'Default' profile. This is assigned to all your affiliates as standard until you change it yourself in their profile.

It is sensible to set up the default profile correctly. We therefore recommend going through the settings. How to do this exactly is explained further below.

Creating a New Payment Profile

You create a new profile by clicking New profile +.

You then have the option to give it a 'Label'. This is the name of the profile. You can also copy the settings of an existing profile. This makes it easy to take over the settings of an existing profile when you only want to make a small adjustment!

Default Cookie & Commission Settings

After creating a profile, you determine the commissions and the lifespan of the cookies for this profile. What a cookie exactly does is explained in this article, but in short: a cookie ensures that Plug&Pay can track whether an order came in via an affiliate link. A cookie is only valid for a limited time and you can set the lifespan via the 'Cookie lifespan' option. This allows you to determine how long after using the affiliate link the commission may still be awarded!

In this same menu you set the default commission that applies to your products.

Below that you can configure whether you want to enable 'Make commission recurring by default'. This setting applies to subscriptions and instalment payments. If you enable this, you ensure that your affiliates receive the same commission each time the next direct debit of the subscription / instalment payment has taken place.

Custom Commission Settings (Per Product)

It is also possible to deviate from the set default commission. You can do this at product level. Per product you can set the commission amount, either as a percentage or in euros.

You can also specify whether you want the commission to be one-off or recurring. You can do this by checking the 'repeat' icon. If you want the commission to be recurring, the button in the default settings must be switched on!

Finally, you have the option to show or hide a product in your affiliates' dashboard. Disabling this setting does not affect whether or not the affiliate receives commission for the relevant product. Tick your preference using the eye icon.

❗️ Note: Don't forget to save the profile settings after making any changes.

Assigning a Payment Profile to an Affiliate

Via Affiliates > Sellers you can see which payment profile is assigned to which affiliate. To do this, select the desired affiliate and go to the 'Actions' panel. Here you can change the payment profile.
