Creating Integrations with the Affiliate System

How do you connect the affiliate system with external software?

The affiliate system is part of Plug&Pay Ultimate. Are you using Plug&Pay Lite or Premium? Upgrade to Plug&Pay Ultimate to use this feature.

Do you want to automatically include your new affiliate in a smart funnel via an external tool? That is possible!

With an integration via MailBlue or Zapier you can automatically make new affiliates part of your onboarding process. For example, you can:

πŸ‘‰ Automatically send a welcome email via MailBlue (ActiveCampaign).
πŸ‘‰ Via Zapier, add new affiliates directly to a Discord group.

Creating a Rule via a Direct Integration

To set up an integration, go to Affiliates > Settings > Integrations. Create a new rule by clicking 'Add rule'.

Use a name that clearly describes the rule, so you can easily recognise it later. Then choose the trigger. A trigger is the event that activates the rule. You have three options:

  • Affiliate accepted: The affiliate has been automatically or manually accepted.

  • Affiliate rejected: You have manually rejected the affiliate.

  • Affiliate stopped: The affiliate has unsubscribed themselves from your programme via their own dashboard.

In the example shown, the affiliate is added to an automation in MailBlue after the affiliate has been accepted.

In the first dropdown, the software in which the action should be performed is selected. The integration with MailBlue/ActiveCampaign was already set up previously via the relevant article.

Then in the dropdown below, the action to be performed is selected. In this case, 'Add to automation' was chosen. This adds the email address of the accepted affiliate to the automation. The types of actions you can call depend on the software.

Click 'Create rule' and your rule is ready for use! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Using an Indirect Integration (Zapier)

With Zapier you can connect Plug&Pay to other software, even if no direct integration exists for it yet. For example, you can automatically add an (approved) affiliate to a shared Discord group, or create an integration with other email marketing software such as MailChimp.

When setting up a Zap, you then select the trigger Affiliate Accepted. Choose the application where the action should be performed and configure the desired action.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Test your Zap before going live!
