Connecting Plug&Pay to ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT to your Plug&Pay account

Written by Bryan Schoenmaker

In this article, you'll read how to connect Plug&Pay to your ChatGPT account via an MCP (Model Context Protocol). Once the integration is active, ChatGPT can work directly with your Plug&Pay environment, so you can edit a landing page or create a new checkout, for example.

What is an MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's a standard that ChatGPT uses to connect securely to external tools and data, such as your Plug&Pay environment. Via the MCP integration, ChatGPT gets access to a set of actions that you can approve individually.

Examples of actions

ChatGPT can carry out the following actions in Plug&Pay, among others:

  • Create checkouts and landing pages

  • Edit checkouts and landing pages

  • Search for orders

  • Create a product funnel

  • Create and add new blocks

  • Rewrite texts

  • Generate images

Adding a plugin

Log in to your ChatGPT account and navigate to Settings > Plugins. Click Developer mode at the bottom.

Turn on both toggles for Developer mode and Enforce CSP in developer mode.

Go to https://chatgpt.com/plugins and add a new plugin by clicking the plus icon in the top right.

Fill in Plug&Pay as the name and optionally choose a description and icon. Under Connection, select Server URL and enter the following address:

https://mcp.plugandpay.com/mcp. Set Authentication to OAuth.

Agree to the terms and click Create to add the plugin.

Connecting the integration

You'll now see a message saying you're not yet connected. Click Sign in with Plug&Pay to start the connection.

A window titled Authorize ChatGPT appears. Here you give ChatGPT permission to use the Plug&Pay MCP server. Click Authorize to confirm.

Using ChatGPT in Plug&Pay

Now that ChatGPT is connected, you can carry out actions in your Plug&Pay environment. Start a new chat and click the plus icon. Choose Plug&Pay here and type your prompt.

Depending on the permissions ChatGPT has, it can now carry out actions in your Plug&Pay environment.

Changing permissions

Navigate to Settings > Plugins in ChatGPT and choose Plug&Pay. By default, ChatGPT can carry out low-risk actions.

Choose your preference here. Your preference is applied automatically.
