What is an MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's a standard that Claude uses to connect securely to external tools and data, such as your Plug&Pay environment. Via the MCP integration, Claude gets access to a set of actions that you can approve individually.

Examples of actions

Once you've connected Claude to your Plug&Pay, you can carry out the following actions, among others:

Create pages
Edit landing pages
Search for orders
Create a product funnel
Create and add new blocks
Generate images

Adding a custom connector

You'll land directly on the Connectors page in the settings for Claude. Click Add in the top right and choose Add custom connector.

Enter Plug&Pay as the name. Enter the following for the URL:

https://mcp.plugandpay.com/mcp

Then click Add to save the connector.

Connecting the integration

You'll now see the Plug&Pay connector with a message saying you're not yet connected. Click Connect to start the connection.

A window titled Authorize Claude appears. Here you give Claude permission to use the Plug&Pay MCP server. Click Authorize to confirm.

Using Claude in Plug&Pay

Now that Claude is connected, you can carry out actions in your Plug&Pay environment. Start a new chat and type your prompt. The more accurate your prompt, the better Claude's result will be.

Depending on the permissions Claude has, it can now carry out actions in your Plug&Pay account.

Changing permissions

Navigate to Settings > Connectors in Claude and choose Plug&Pay. In the overview, you'll see the available actions under Tool permissions, split into read actions (Read-only tools) and write and delete actions (Write/delete tools).

Here you decide which actions Claude can carry out in your Plug&Pay account.

By default, every action is set to Needs approval, which means you give permission each time before Claude does something.

Decide for each item whether Claude has permission for this or should always ask for permission.

What's the difference between the AI in Plug&Pay and the MCP integration?

The AI in the page builder is built into Plug&Pay itself, so you don't need a separate AI subscription. With the MCP integration, you work from your own Claude or ChatGPT, where your projects, files, skills and tone of voice are available. The AI in Plug&Pay doesn't know any of those.

Do I need a paid Claude subscription?

No. The free version of Claude works too. You'll be limited to Claude Chat, though; Cowork and Code aren't available on the free plan.

I can't find the Plug&Pay connector in Claude. Where is it?

The Plug&Pay connector isn't in Claude's standard list of connectors. You add it yourself under Settings > Connectors. Once you've added the connector, it's also available in Cowork, the desktop app and the mobile app.

Does the integration work in Claude Chat, Cowork and Claude Code?

Yes, it works in all three. Chat and Cowork use the connector you've added in your Claude settings. In Claude Code, you add the MCP server separately.

I have multiple Plug&Pay accounts. Can I connect to all of them?

Yes. Your Plug&Pay accounts are connected based on the email address you enter. Claude then gets access to every Plug&Pay where you're a site owner, admin or marketer with that email address.

Is my data shared with Anthropic?

The MCP integration gives Claude access to certain parts of your Plug&Pay, such as your orders and pages. That way, you can use Claude to manage your Plug&Pay. Anything you enter in Claude Chat or Cowork can be stored by Anthropic, depending on your privacy settings.
