Placing a test order

In this article, you'll learn how to place a test order in Plug&Pay. You can either put your entire Plug&Pay into test mode, or place a test order per checkout while keeping the page live.

Enabling test mode

You put your entire Plug&Pay into test mode via Settings > Payment provider.

Switch on the Test mode option there. All orders placed through a checkout from then on are test orders. The button appears in the top right of your screen to confirm this.

When paying in test mode, you won't go to your bank's payment screen but to an intermediate page from Mollie, Stripe or Whop, where you can complete the test order.

Test order per checkout

If you're already live, you can also test a specific checkout without putting your entire environment into test mode. To do this, log in to Plug&Pay and visit the checkout, where you'll see the option This is a test order. If you tick it, the order is processed as a test order.

ℹ️ This option is only visible to logged-in admins. Customers don't see it.

Viewing test orders

You can find your test orders via Sales > Orders, under the Test orders tab. These orders are automatically marked with -T and identified by the icon.
