In Plug&Pay, you have two ways to check whether your setup is working correctly. First, by using Test Mode - this allows you to test your entire Plug&Pay environment - and second, by placing a test order - this lets you test individual checkout pages while your website remains live.

Both options are explained in this article!πŸš€

Your entire Plug&Pay in test mode

Test mode in Plug&Pay enables you to check if your entire setup is working correctly. With test mode activated, you can place test orders and check whether your created funnels are setup properly. This without making actual payments. Please note, that any orders placed during test mode, are processed as a test order. No payments will be collected.

To turn on test mode, go to Settings > Integrations > Payment provider. You will find the slider next to test mode to turn on the test mode.

Switch on the test mode slider, confirm via the authenticator app, SMS or mail, save your changes and your test mode is activated. πŸ™Œ

When test mode is active, you will see a yellow button in the top right corner of your Plug&Pay dashboard > . Please note, that as long this button is displayed, all orders will be processed as test orders.

When placing an order in test mode, you will not be redirected to the bank's payment screen. Instead, you will see the screen displayed below from Mollie:

Select Paid and click on Continue. Yes, you just placed a test order!🎊

Placing a test order without using test mode

We totally understand that you cannot switch to test mode once your website is live. That is why we provide site owners and admins with the option to place a test order for each individual checkout, while the checkout page remains live. Please note that this function is only visible to website owners and admins.

When you open the checkout page, as a website owner or admin, you will see a checkbox labelled 'This is a test order.' By thinking this box, the order you place will be processed as a test order!

This checkbox is only visible to admins and will only appear when you are signed in while accessing the checkout page Customers will not see it!

What happens to orders placed in test mode?

Orders placed in test mode or placed as a test order are automatically marked as Test (2025-T). To view all test orders, go to Sales > Orders > Test orders.
