One of the most effective ways to boost conversions is by creating a sense of scarcity. Scarcity in the number of hours left to claim a particular offer, for example, creates a sense of urgency in your visitor, making them more likely to take advantage of an action.

With Plug&Pay, you can capitalise on this by setting a countdown on your checkouts. Your visitors will see the number of days or hours running down by themselves. Perfect for when you have a temporary promotion running ⏳

Adding a countdown to your checkout page

You set the countdown on your checkout page, via Content > Sales boosters > Countdown . No checkout page yet? Then create one first.

Set the date and time for the deadline. The time zone adopts what is set in Settings > Shop features.

Enter a redirect URL - this is the URL your visitor will be redirected to after 5 seconds, when they land on the expired checkout page.

💡Tip: refer your visitors to a different checkout page, like the version without a promotional discount for example

❗️Do not forget to safe your changes!

After you save the countdown, a timer will appear at the top of your checkout page. The appearance of the checkout page depends on which template you have chosen for your checkout.
