What is a block?
Blocks are the foundation of Plug&Pay landing pages. Every page consists of one or more blocks.
A block is a section on your page built up from rows and columns. Within it you display certain elements, such as texts, images, buttons, titles, videos, etc.
The structure of a block
Blocks are built according to a hierarchy. It's useful to understand this hierarchy when you want to personalise your blocks. The hierarchy of a block is structured as follows:
Block
Row
Column
Element (such as: title, text, button, etc.)
When you select a block, you can view the hierarchy on the left via the layout icon. If you click on a component (e.g. Column), the settings for that component will open.
The difference between a 'row' and a 'column'
In every block you'll find one or more rows. Rows are always placed beneath one another, and you can recognise them by their red colour.
In every row you'll find one or more columns. Columns are always placed next to one another, and you can recognise them by their yellow colour.
Adding a block
Our page templates contain ready-made blocks that serve as a foundation for your page. In addition, when adding a new block you can also choose from various blocks that we've already prepared for you.
Add a new block via the plus icon in the top left by dragging it to the desired location:
Or click the blue plus icon above or below a block:
You can also add an empty block if you want to go all out with your own creativity β¨
Editing a block
When you select a block, the settings for that block open on the left.
Blocks are displayed on all device types by default. You can also make blocks visible only on desktop or mobile. This is important for optimising your page for every type of visitor.
Via the colour palette you manage the appearance of the block. Here you determine the colour, height, and spacing of the block, and you can add dividing lines and animations.
When you click on a block, you can use these buttons to duplicate, save, or delete the block:
Saving a block
Have you created the ideal block and want to use it more often on your website? Save this block for reuse.
Select your block and click save:
Then choose to save the block as a universal block or as a block template.
A universal block is a block that is the same on every page of your website. If you make a change somewhere, it will be visible everywhere on your website.
A block template is a block that you can add to any page with a fixed layout, just like the blocks we've made for you.
Adding an element
Just as you can easily add blocks to your landing page, you can add elements in the same way.
