When you have created a landing page in Plug&Pay, it consists of different blocks. You can not only change or duplicate blocks, but also save them.
A saved block can then be used as a template for other pages, or even used as a universal block.
Changes in a universal block are automatically applied to every landing page where this block has been added. This saves you time and effort! π
Adding a new block
Go to Pages > Landing pages and open the relevant page by clicking on the name to open the builder. Add a new block via the plus icon at the top left by dragging it to the desired location.
You can also add a new block via the page overview:
Saving a block
When you have made changes to a block, you can save this individual block. This is useful if you want to reuse the same block on other landing pages!
To save a block, click on the block and then on the 'Save' icon in the top right corner of the block:
You then have the choice from the following options to save:
Universal block: If you save a block as a universal block, every change to this block is applied to all pages where the block is active.
Block template: Saved in your block library. Changes do not affect the same blocks on other pages.
β A change to a universal block is therefore applied to all landing pages where this block has been added.
The saved block can be found in the block library. Under Saved you will find the templates, under Universal logically the universal blocks.
Making changes to a universal block
To edit a universal block, click on the block and then on 'Edit universal block'. You then enter a kind of 'isolated mode' where you can make changes as desired.
Once you have saved the changes, they are automatically applied to all pages where this block has been used.
Adding a universal block to a landing page
The universal block is meant to be used on multiple pages. To add a universal block to a landing page, click on the plus icon at the top left again to choose a block.
You will then find all the blocks you can add in the sidebar. Under Universal you will find all universal blocks.
Deleting a universal block
You can delete a universal block by finding it in the sidebar. The bin icon appears when you hover over it with your mouse. By clicking the bin icon, the block is deleted.
β Deleting a universal block is only possible when the block is no longer used on other landing pages.
Applications of universal blocks
Universal blocks are very useful, but what can you actually use them for? 'It is wise to save blocks that have the same content on multiple landing pages as universal blocks.'
A good example is a pricing table. You can find this block as 'Pricing'.
When the prices and content of the packages are the same for each respective landing page, it is useful to save this block as a universal block. This way you do not have to make small (or large) changes multiple times, and the content remains consistent on every page.
Another example is a navigation menu:
In this menu you can add menu items that indicate where the buttons should link to when clicked.
By setting this block as a universal block, you can use the same navigation on every page and you do not have to re-adjust all the links if a page changes.
