In this article, you'll read how to retroactively award commission to an affiliate for an order that's already been placed, and how to link an affiliate to a subscription or instalment. Useful when the promotion link wasn't used but you still want to reward the affiliate.

Adding commission to an order
Navigate to Sales > Orders and open the order you want to award commission for.
Under Affiliate commissions, click Create.
Select the product within the order and enter the affiliate's email address.
If the order is part of a subscription or instalment, you can also choose to award the commission on every follow-up invoice using the 'Make commission recurring' option.
Click Save to award the commission. Plug&Pay calculates the commission automatically and displays it right away.
Adding commission to a subscription or instalment
Normally, an affiliate is linked to a subscription or instalment when the buyer places their purchase through the promotion link. If that didn't happen, you can still link the affiliate to a subscription or instalment after the fact.
Navigate to Sales > Subscriptions or Sales > Instalments and open the subscription or instalment.
Under Affiliate commissions, click Create.
Enter the affiliate's email address and click Save. The affiliate is now linked to the subscription or instalment, and will automatically earn commission on recurring invoices, provided you've set that up.
❗️ Please note: the affiliate only earns commission on future invoices, not on invoices that have already been created.
Setting commission to recurring
Whether a product pays out recurring commission is controlled under Affiliates > Settings > Profiles.
There are two ways to arrange this:
switch on Make commission recurring by default to apply it across the whole profile;
or set it per product using the
-icon. You can use this on its own, regardless of the default setting.
