Creating a profile for affiliates

Create profiles to pay different affiliates different commissions

Written by Bryan Schoenmaker

In this article, you'll read how to create a payment profile and assign it to an affiliate. A payment profile is what determines which commissions apply to which affiliates.

ℹ️ The affiliate system is part of Plug&Pay Ultimate. Are you on Plug&Pay Lite or Premium? Upgrade to Ultimate to use this feature.

The default profile

A new payment profile is useful when you want to:

  • reward a group of long-standing affiliates with a higher commission for their loyalty;

  • split your affiliates into groups, for example one group that only earns commission on product A and another that only earns commission on product B.

You create a new profile under Affiliates > Settings > Profiles. Every affiliate starts out on the Default profile until you change it. It's worth going through the settings on this standard profile carefully, because it decides what your affiliates get by default.

Creating a new profile

Click New profile + and give the profile a Name.

You can also copy the settings from an existing profile, which is useful when you only want to tweak a small detail. Click Add to create the new profile.

Once you're inside the profile, you set up the commissions. You can read how that works below.👇

Assigning a profile to an affiliate

Under Affiliates > Sellers you get a full overview of all your affiliates. Select the affiliate you want and go to the Actions panel. That's where you change the assigned profile.
