In this article, you'll learn how to create and set up a discount code in Plug&Pay. You'll go through the options for the discount type, conditions and restrictions.
ℹ️ Discount codes are available from Plug&Pay Premium. Are you using Plug&Pay Lite? Upgrade to Premium or Ultimate to use this feature.
Creating a discount code
To create a discount code, navigate to Tools > Discount codes and click Create discount code.
You can then configure the created discount code as you wish. After creating your discount code, click Save to keep it.
Discount code: Options
In this section, you adjust the general settings of your discount code.
Name: Enter the name of your discount code.
Type: Choose what kind of discount you'd like to give here: Fixed amount, Percentage or Free product.
Discount: Depending on the chosen type, you set the discount amount, discount percentage or free product here. In the case of a discount amount, you also choose between Entire order and Each item.
Entire order: The discount is applied to the total amount in the shopping cart.
Each item: The discount is applied to every item in the shopping cart, including all order bumps.
For each discount type, you also set whether the discount will be Recurring.
Recurring 'Yes': The discount will be applied to every order within a subscription or instalment payment.
Recurring 'No': The discount only applies to the first order.
Discount code: Enter the actual discount code here, such as SUMMERSALE. You can also have the discount code generated for you. Customers will apply this discount code on your checkout.
Discount code: Conditions
Here you choose the conditions that need to be met for your discount code to work.
Product: Choose the product to which the discount code should apply, or leave the option on All products to have the discount code apply to all your products. It will soon be possible to select multiple products.
Minimum amount: Optionally enter a minimum amount. The discount code can then only be applied once the customer spends more than the chosen amount.
Discount code: Restrictions
Here you set how the use of your discount code should be limited.
Usage limit: Switch on the Limit to function to restrict how often a customer can use your discount code.
1 time per email address: The discount code can only be applied once per email address.
Number of uses: Select this option and fill in a number to make sure the discount code can be used 'x' times in total.
Start date: Optionally choose a date from which the discount code may be active. Switch on Add end date to also set an end date.
Enabling the discount code
