The confirmation page is shown to your customer after payment has completed on your checkout page. Many shoppers experience buyer's remorse after completing their purchase; take this anxiety or regret away from your customer with a well-designed confirmation page!
In Plug&Pay, you have three options for setting this up:
The default Plug&Pay confirmation page (Default)
Create your own confirmation page in Plug&Pay (Plug&Pay confirmation page)
Link to your own external URL (Own URL)
You will find this option in the checkout settings under General:
ℹ️ These confirmation pages are displayed after the customer has paid on the checkout page. If you want to create a confirmation page for your opt-in page for example, create one with a landing page.
1. The default Plug&Pay confirmation page
The standard Plug&Pay confirmation page is shown below. This is a short and clear confirmation page, on which the order is displayed one more time ⬇️
ℹ️ It is not possible to customise the default confirmation page.
Once you've uploaded a file to your product (you do that via Products > [product] > Media by uploading your files under Downloads), this is where your visitor can download the file.
❗Please note: Not every customer will download their file directly from the confirmation page. To ensure they receive it, we recommend sending an automated follow-up email using a tool like ActiveCampaign. You will find instructions for connecting Plug&Pay to your email tool in this article.
2. Create your own confirmation page in Plug&Pay
You can easily create a personalised confirmation page in Plug&Pay to display after a customer completes their purchase. Head to Pages > Confirmation Page in the left menu. Haven't created one yet? Click on 'Add confirmation page +' to get started.
Once you have created your page, you automatically go to the confirmation editor, as displayed below:
Here you can change the name of your confirmation page. There is also space to add a Javascript code. You might use this, for example, to show a special widget on your page.
Under Content you can set up the design of your confirmation page.
🖋️ Header
Here you will see a field for the Title, Subtitle and Description. Here you can enter your own text. If you do not enter anything, the default text "Congratulations! Your order has succeeded..." will be displayed. ⬇️
💡 Tip: Confirm the good choice your customer has made to eliminate the
buyer's remorse. Say something like:
"Congratulations, you made a good choice"
📷 Media
Adding an image or a video can greatly improve your customers' experience after they have made a purchase. This could be, for example, a confirmation of their choice or a thank-you video. These are then displayed on your confirmation page directly below the text you enter in the header.
🖱️ Call-to-Action (button)
You can still prompt your visitor to perform an action by clicking the button. For example, if they still need to schedule an appointment with you in Calendly after payment. Once they click the button, they will be redirected to the URL you entered.
🔗 Social Media
Add links to your social media platforms so your customer can connect with you there too.
Once you have filled in all the details, your confirmation page is ready and should look something like this. ⬇️
2.1 Link your custom Plug&Pay confirmation page to your checkout
You have now created a Plug&Pay confirmation page yourself. What you still need to do is link this to your checkout page.
Go to Pages > Checkouts and select your checkout. Click on the dropdown menu under Confirmation page. Select 'Plug&Pay confirmation page'. A second dropdown will appear - this is where you choose the confirmation page you just created. ⬇️
3. Enter an external URL
You can also enter your own URL. You use this option if you want to create a confirmation page in your own website system, or if you have created a confirmation page with the landing page feature in Plug&Pay!
Your customer will automatically be redirected to this page after completing their purchase. For example: If I enter https://plugandpay.com/confirmation
in the 'Confirmation page URL' field, my customer will be redirected to that address as soon as their order is complete.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Can I choose a separate confirmation page for when people have purchased an order bump or upsell?
Can I choose a separate confirmation page for when people have purchased an order bump or upsell?
No, currently your confirmation page is shown in all cases. So whether someone buys a order bump or not, and whether someone buys an upsell or not, does not matter. In all cases, the confirmation page is shown. On the Plug&Pay confirmation page, you do see an overview of the purchased products (so if someone buys an order bump, it will be visible on the confirmation page).
The option to show different confirmation pages has been submitted to our wishlist.
Can I use a landing page as a confirmation page?
Can I use a landing page as a confirmation page?
You can set a self-made landing page as a confirmation page. After creating the landing page, copy the URL, go to your checkout and choose Own URL. Here, you can enter the URL of your landing page.
