The order summary page is shown to your customer after they have checked out on the checkout page. Many buyers experience buyer's remorse after their purchase; remove this unease or regret from your customer with a well-designed order summary page!

In Plug&Pay you have three options to create an order summary page and link it to your checkout:

  • The default Plug&Pay order summary

  • Creating an order summary page in Plug&Pay

  • Using your own URL

ℹ️ You create the Plug&Pay order confirmation as a landing page

Via the General tab at your checkout you can set up an order confirmation page πŸ‘‡

1. The default Plug&Pay order summary

By default, your Plug&Pay account has an order summary page. You can find this page via Pages > Landing pages.

You can edit the order summary page as you see fit. This page displays a summary of the order, including any downloads.

When you have uploaded a file to your product (via Media at your product), this is the place where your customer can download the file.

❗️Note: Not every customer will download the file(s) from the order summary. To ensure your customers receive their files, it is best to send an automated email after the order, via MailBlue/ActiveCampaign.

2. Creating an order summary page in Plug&Pay

In Plug&Pay you can also create your own order summary page. For example, create a customised page for each product that perfectly matches your offer.

You create an order confirmation page as a landing page.

Go to Pages > Landing pages to get started.

Duplicate the default order summary page, or create a new page. You are free to design your page, so add texts, images, buttons, social media elements and more.

❗️Note: the page must be of the order confirmation type to be directly linked to your checkout

The most important part to add is the order summary block. This block is used to display the order data again, including the invoice and any downloads. To offer other downloadable files, add buttons for them.

Tips for a strong order summary page

  • Confirm the good choice your customer has made to eliminate buyer's remorse. "Congratulations, you made a good choice."

  • Add a video where you personally thank the customer. This greatly enhances how your customers experience your business.

  • Add a button to prompt your customer to take action, such as scheduling a Calendly appointment or offering an upsell.

  • Place your social media channels to grow them more.

Link your order summary page to the checkout

You have now created your own order summary page. What you now need to do is link it to your checkout.

Go to Pages > Checkouts and edit your checkout. Choose the order confirmation you created under Select page πŸ‘‡

ℹ️ Only published pages can be selected here

Set your order summary page as default

If you have created a new order summary, you can also set it as the default.

Every new checkout you create will use this order summary by default. To set an order summary page as default, click the three dots and then click Set as default πŸ‘‡

3. Enter custom URL

You can also enter a custom URL. You use this option if you have created a confirmation page using the landing page feature in Plug&Pay or if you want to create a confirmation page or order summary in your own website system.

Your customer will then be redirected to this set page after payment. In the example below, I entered https://plugandpay.com/thankyou under Custom URL.

This means my customers will be redirected to this page after payment.

FAQ

Can I show a different summary page when someone purchases an order bump or upsell?

Not yet. Currently the same summary page is shown in all cases, regardless of whether an order bump or upsell was purchased. Showing different summary pages per purchase is part of our wishlist.

Can I use a different type of landing page as a summary page?

Yes. You can set a custom landing page, such as a confirmation page or sales page, as your summary page. After creating the landing page, copy its URL, go to your checkout, and select Custom URL. Enter the URL of your landing page there. Don't forget to add the order summary block to that page.

Can I use a specific summary URL per checkout?

Yes. Go to Settings > Analytics to enable a unique summary URL per checkout. You can then use this for analytics integrations such as the Meta Pixel.
