In this article, you'll learn how to still process VAT for an order where VAT wasn't automatically reverse-charged. You can read how to set up VAT reverse charge by default in Plug&Pay in the article Managing VAT settings.
ℹ️ Plug&Pay validates VAT IDs via VIES. If a VAT ID is invalid there, the VAT can't be reverse-charged.
Reverse-charging VAT afterwards
It isn't possible to reverse-charge VAT directly afterwards on an existing order, because the invoice is already finalised and the payment has already been processed. Proceed as follows to still reverse-charge VAT: first credit the full amount of the order and refund the payment to the customer.
Then create a new manual order and add the customer's company name and VAT ID. Enable the Reverse VAT option here.
