Buttons are an essential part of every page. From navigation to taking action; buttons can be used in various ways.
In this article we show all the different ways you can use buttons on your landing page.
First, you of course need to create a landing page.
There are two ways to add a button to your landing page:
1. Adding a block with a button
Within the page builder there are various blocks that contain a button. Choose one of these and add it to your landing page.
2. Adding a button as an element
Add a button to a block via the plus icon in the top left. Choose a button type and drag the button to the desired location on your page.
Button settings
Click on the button to edit it. On the left, this menu will open.
Under Display you determine whether the button should be visible on all devices, or only on desktop/mobile.
π‘Tip: Creating a sales page? Make sure all buttons on this page link to the same page
Under Type you choose which type of button you want to use π
Link: enter a URL where you want to send your customers to. Use this when linking to a page outside your Plug&Pay site.
Landing page: choose another landing page created in Plug&Pay and link the button directly to that page.
Checkout: choose a payment page created in Plug&Pay and link the button directly to that payment page.
Scroll to block: choose another block on this landing page where you want to direct the visitor to.
Open pop-up: choose which type of pop-up you want to use; form or iFrame.
Phone number: enter a phone number. When visitors click the button, their browser will ask which application they want to use to call. If a visitor views the page on mobile, they can call immediately.
Email: enter an email address.
Download file: Add a file that can be downloaded immediately by your visitor.
A No follow link is a link that passes no value to the destination page.
π‘Tip: use 'No follow' if you don't want the link to be indexed by Google or other search engines
Changing the button's appearance
With the colour palette you can adjust the appearance of the button.
You can also choose to fully design the button however you like. You do this by clicking on Use custom styling.
π‘Tip: give your buttons a contrasting colour compared to your primary colour. This ensures your buttons stand out more.
Button groups
In addition to a single button, you can also work with button groups. These are two buttons side by side.
Use one button as a Call-to-Action button that goes to your offer or opt-in, and the other button to scroll a visitor to a block on your page. This is also called the Hobson +1 effect.
With the Hobson +1 effect, an additional choice is offered, giving your visitor two options to choose from. This makes you more inclined to choose one of the two options; you create a visible choice.
Just like with buttons, you can also adjust the settings of a button group.
