In this article, you'll learn how to link a form in Plug&Pay to Zapier. With Zapier, you can connect your Plug&Pay forms to another software tool.
With this integration, you can, for example:
Make sure that you receive and can process the right visitor details after a submission
Automatically send a customer the freebie by email
Give a customer information immediately after signing up for a webinar or event
ℹ️ Don't have a Zapier account yet? Create one first.
Haven't created a form yet? You can read about that in this article.
What is Zapier?
Zapier is a tool that connects other software with each other. You no doubt use various tools for your business. Zapier can be seen as the glue between all those tools. With a connection in Zapier, you can let a trigger in one tool or software cause an action to happen in another tool or software. This makes it easy to automate various tasks.
The Plug&Pay integration with Zapier
You can find the Plug&Pay integration on this page on Zapier. You can also simply search for Plug&Pay when creating a new zap.
Creating a zap
Create a new zap and choose Plug&Pay as the trigger. Then choose the event Form Submitted.
In the next step, you'll need to connect your Plug&Pay to Zapier. You do this by clicking Sign in.
A screen then opens where you have to fill in your Plug&Pay API key.
You can find the API key in Plug&Pay under Settings > Developers.
First of all, you'll need to accept the developer agreement before you can request the API keys. Click Get started and accept the terms.
Click Add new API key and give the API a recognisable name so that you know afterwards what you're using the API for.
❗️ The API key is shown only once. Make sure you copy the key straight away.
Copy the API key and paste it into the Zapier connection screen.
Choosing the form
In the Trigger step, it's time to select your form. You'll see a list here of all the forms you've created in Plug&Pay. Select the form you'd like to link and click Continue.
Testing the trigger
In the next step, you test the connection with Zapier. Zapier checks whether it can find an event in your Plug&Pay account.
If the test is successful, you'll see a green tick and you'll get a preview of the fields that are retrieved with this event.
ℹ️ The test data always shows fictional data.
After completing the test, you can link your desired Action to create the automation you want.
In the example below, after my contact form has been filled in, a tag would be created in Mailchimp.
