By default, new landing pages are not indexed by search engines such as Google. If you want to make an indexed page no longer findable, read on πŸ‘‡

What does indexing mean?

Indexing means that search engines (such as Google) can include a page in the search results. If your website is indexed, it can be found in Google.

Not indexing means the opposite: the page is not included in the search results.

Why would you not index a page?

There may be situations where you don't want a page to be found via Google:

  • because you are still working on the page, but you already want to share it with a few people;

  • because it is the download page after requesting your lead magnet, and you don't want everyone to be able to visit this page and simply download your lead magnet;

  • because for another reason you have content online that should not be freely accessible to everyone.

How do you hide a landing page from Google search results?

First, open the relevant landing page. Then go to Settings > SEO and set the page to Not indexed. Don't forget to save the page.

Your page will now not be indexed in Google's search results.

❗️ It may take a few days before Google stops showing the page in the search results.

In the overview of all your landing pages, you can also easily see which pages are and are not indexed πŸ‘‡
