Getting started with Plug&Pay

Step by step from new account to your first live payment page in Plug&Pay

Written by Rens van Hout

In this guide you'll learn how to set up your Plug&Pay environment and get your first payment page live. Begin with Plug&Pay explained if you haven't worked with Plug&Pay before.

Step 1: Log in

Go to https://admin.plugandpay.com to log in. Just created your account? You'll receive an email with a link to set up your shop. Once you've completed that step, you'll be logged in directly.

Step 2: Fill in your business details

Go to Settings > Details and fill in your business and address information. This information will appear on the invoices Plug&Pay sends to your customers.

Step 3: Connect a payment provider

Plug&Pay works with Mollie and Stripe as payment providers. Already have an account with one of them? Connect your existing account. Still need to choose? Mollie is most commonly used for European businesses.

Step 4: Create a product and payment page

Go to Products and click 'Create product'. Give your product a name, set the price and indicate whether it's a one-time product or a subscription. Then choose whether you want a payment page generated directly: Plug&Pay will automatically link it to your product. This is the fastest way to set up both at once.

Step 5: Place a test order

Your Plug&Pay environment is in test mode by default. This means you can go through your payment page without making a real payment. Do this before going live to make sure everything works. Once everything looks good, you'll turn off test mode in the next step.

Step 6: Go live

Check the following before sharing the URL of your payment page:

  • Your payment page is activated (toggle under General in the payment page settings)

  • Test mode is turned off

  • Your payment provider is connected and your payment methods are activated

If everything looks good, share the URL of your payment page and receive your first payment.
